“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”
– Princess Diana

Do you want to make the world a better place?

Simply, be kind.

Small acts of kindness for everyone surrounding you can completely change your perception of the world. It can sometimes feel grim, especially at this time, but one thing that connects all of us is a need to feel appreciated and loved. For some, it’s an act of helping the less fortunate, a friend, or a stranger, while for others it’s a way of going through life. Something we all have in common is the knowledge that kindness benefits both sides- both the giver and the receiver. Making somebody’s day better is a small thing for us, but can change their entire mood. Here at Bellabeat, we believe that our way to happiness is by helping others.

That’s why we’re bringing you 5 ideas you can use to share kindness daily!

1. Leave notes

Grab a piece of paper and write a short, cute note. Hide it in your child’s lunch box, partner’s jacket, or on a coworker’s table. Tell them one thing you think they need the most, whether that’s simply a compliment on a new haircut, motivation for a busy day, or words of encouragement for a hard exam.

2. Listen

Sometimes, the best thing we can do for somebody is just–listen. Visit, or call your parents and grandparents, and have a talk with them. Listen to their stories of reminiscing about the “good old days.”

3. Praise someone

Whether it’s your child or a new coworker, saying positive feedback to a well-done work is a major confidence boost! If you see your friend finally started working on her goals or your child made an effort to learn their least favorite subject, take some time and let them know you see their effort. It can only make them feel better about themselves.

4. Reach out

You haven’t heard from your friend in a while? Reach out! Sometimes we’re scared to reach out as we fear rejection, but what if your friend feels the same way? Call, text, or reach out to them any other way and let them know you’re here for them. During this time when we’re isolated from family and friends, a simple text message can make a difference.

5. Help your neighbor

Next time when you’re thinking about going to a supermarket, check whether your neighbors need anything. In case they’re elderly or pregnant, going to the store daily can be hard, so why not help? You’re already on the way!

Let’s continue spreading love and kindness to everyone around us and be the first step to a better world. Together.

“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.”
—Amelia Earhart
